Introducing our stand out print for Autumn 21, Leaping Leopards.
Leopards and leopard print have a long history in fashion. From its appearance in the 1920s and 30s when real leopard pelts were used, through to the icons of the 1960s to today’s catwalks, the leopard has never really been away from the spotlight.
These enigmatic creatures seem to have captured the imaginations of designers and fashion lovers from all walks of life and cross boundaries of differing tastes and styles.
The value we place on clothes which will be loved for many seasons means that the enduring and far reaching appeal of leopards is one of the things that we love about it.
Our sketched study of these majestic big cats was first developed after a visit to London’s Victoria and Albert museum to see a Mary Quant exhibition.
Emily and Fin went on to design a collection inspired by the design details and shapes of the swinging 60’s, with women like Jackie Kennedy and Jean Shrimpton in mind, brought up to date to work for a modern wardrobe.
Leopard is a print which can’t be pigeonholed, worn by so many different people in so many different ways and our Leaping Leopards print strives to do the same.
From our cosy Carys jumper and smart Edie shirt to our covetable Nico dress, we’ve adorned wearable, feminine silhouettes with a print which strikes just the right balance between classic and bold, playful and sophisticated, casual and dressed up.
